Diagnostic ERCP

The diagnostic Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a procedure in which an endoscope is introduced by the mouth until the second section of the small intestine is reached. The ERCP is useful for the observation of the bile duct, including the portions located inside and outside of the liver, providing a precise diagnosis without the need for surgery. This procedure is normally performed in an outpatient clinical setting, depending on the conditions or current health state of the patient.
