According to the size and location of the pseudocyst, it is currently possible to completely drain these collections of fluid build up with the use of endoscopy and without the need of invasive surgery. This is done by making a small orifice in the wall of the stomach or the intestine that is in contact with the pseudocyst. This small incision is carefully enlarged and small pipes named stents are placed in it to connect the interior of the pseudocyst with the stomach or intestine to eliminate the its contents. Finally, these stents are removed and the orifice recovers naturally.
